Sugar Cookies to Make and Share

Don’t fear, we’ve taken on the hard task of testing cookie recipes in search for the perfect Holiday Sugar Cookies, and we found one! (we really aren’t complaining about the process though). These sugar cookies by Lindsay from Life, Love and Sugar are the perfect combination of chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside—and don’t get us started on the fantastic icing!

For many families, decorating sugar cookies during the holidays is a staple tradition. We know that gatherings look a little different this year, but we hope it won’t stop you from simply modifying your favorite holiday customs.

The Perfect Plan

  • Schedule a day and time with your family, friends, or coworkers to decorate together through your preferred video meeting service.
  • Send out this link of the cookie recipe, and ask that the cookies be baked and cooled before the video date (we also recommend having all the icing and decorations laid out, ready to go).
  • On the scheduled day, everyone loads their video and begins decorating while safely sharing laughs and cheer!

Kick it up a Notch

  • Curate a holiday playlist and send it to everyone to enjoy in the background or while prepping their sugar cookies for the special event.
  • Ask everyone to wear their favorite Holiday Sweater.
  • Craft a signature cocktail (or mocktail!) for everyone to sip while they decorate.
  • Create competition categories (Best Decorated, Most Colorful, etc.) and after decorating, vote for the winners.

The best part about baking sugar cookies is that you always tend to make far more than you meant to! If you can’t handle the temptation, wrap them up to give away—drop them in a neighbor’s mailbox or deliver to your local first responder’s station. We promise, no one judges the decorating skills of delicious cookies!
