A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

Kindness is contagious and doesn’t cost a thing.

Kindness is an investment. Good karma is the return.

Happy National Thank a Mail Carrier Day!

This year’s national Thank a Mail Carrier Day is on Thursday, February 4th. Now more than ever, we rely heavily on several different postal and package delivery companies. There’s no better day to show them some extra love than on their national holiday! Here are a few ways you can “thank” your mail carriers.

  1. Leave Out Snacks and Drinks — Setting out a box of prepackaged snacks and drinks is a great way to keep your Mail Carrier fueled and show them you care!
  2. Create a Thank You Sign — If you are expecting mail, create a large sign and hang it in your window! You can write out a funny joke or a simple big “THANK YOU” to bring a smile to their faces.
  3. Give A Little Something Back — Many people tip their mail carriers as a random act of kindness. You can put cash or a gift card in an envelope and write a thank you note, explaining it is a gift to them.
  4. Shout It from the Rooftops — This one is easy! If you’re home when they come by, peep outside to wave and thank them.
  5. Call the Company — Many companies offer the ability to rate employees on their service. If you know their name, call up their company and express your gratitude for their service.

Mail carriers provide a valuable service by delivering our packages daily, even on Sundays and through inclement weather and pandemics. If you are—or know someone personally who is a mail carrier, on behalf of all of us at Northeast Credit Union, thank you!
