A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

Kindness is contagious and doesn’t cost a thing.

Kindness is an investment. Good karma is the return.

Money makes you rich. Kindness makes you great.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Kindness is loving people more than they deserve.

Choose kindness…It matters.

Do good. Be great. Believe there is good in the world.

Be kind to others. Your random act of kindness might become someone’s best lifetime memory.

Sometimes, a single random act of kindness can become the spark that ignites a revolution.

Be nice to people. Sometimes, a smile is all it takes to start a chain of kindness.

Be kind to others without expecting anything in return. Karma is keeping a tab.

Kindness may be blind but it is the most eye-opening feeling one can get. Thanks for being kind.

Be silly. Be honest. Be kind.

Have courage and be kind.

Earth Day 2021 - How You Can Get Involved!

Earth Day is an annual International holiday that brings awareness to not only the importance of taking care of our Earth, but also how to act on it. The first Earth Day took place in 1970 and has grown from inspiring just 20 million Americans to now 1 billion people in over 190 countries! Earth Day occurs on April 22nd every year, we hope this year you’ll participate with us!

There are many local, national, and international initiatives to join on this day but our focus targets our communities of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Here are a few inspiring ideas to do on this day (or any day!).

  • Roadside or River Clean-Up – Now that our ice is melting, take a walk around your neighborhood or kayak along a lake or river to pick up (safely) any trash you may find. Much of this trash ends up harming our local wildlife if not disposed of properly. Sort out the recyclables and take everything to your local dump.
  • Donate, Don’t Throw Out – While you are spring cleaning, instead of throwing away used items, consider donating them! Donation centers take a variety of goods. It is a great way to reduce waste in the landfill and give an item a second life.
  • Replace Single-Use Plastics – Single use plastics are one of biggest culprits in our landfills, and they never break down. As you are finishing up products that are packaged in single-use plastics, consider buying a reusable version next time (i.e. a water bottle!). Check out these 30 sustainable every day home products and give them a try!
  • Join A Trail Committee – A local trail committee is in charge of maintaining the town’s trails. Not only do you have the ability to walk beautiful trails, you give others the chance to do the same.
  • Plant a Tree, or Several – Whether in your yard or working with an organization, this is a great way to support our future Earth.

Earth Day is just one day a year, but by committing to conserving energy like turning off your lights and conserving running water, reducing your carbon footprint by recycling, eliminating single-use plastics, and being conscious of toxic emissions, you can inspire others to do the same and give future generations a beautiful Earth.

You can visit earthday.org to learn more and sign up for their annual Earth Day Event.
