Earth Day is an annual International holiday that brings awareness to not only the importance of taking care of our Earth, but also how to act on it. The first Earth Day took place in 1970 and has grown from inspiring just 20 million Americans to now 1 billion people in over 190 countries! Earth Day occurs on April 22nd every year, we hope this year you’ll participate with us!
There are many local, national, and international initiatives to join on this day but our focus targets our communities of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Here are a few inspiring ideas to do on this day (or any day!).
Earth Day is just one day a year, but by committing to conserving energy like turning off your lights and conserving running water, reducing your carbon footprint by recycling, eliminating single-use plastics, and being conscious of toxic emissions, you can inspire others to do the same and give future generations a beautiful Earth.
