A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

Kindness is contagious and doesn’t cost a thing.

Kindness is an investment. Good karma is the return.

Money makes you rich. Kindness makes you great.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Kindness is loving people more than they deserve.

Choose kindness…It matters.

Do good. Be great. Believe there is good in the world.

Be kind to others. Your random act of kindness might become someone’s best lifetime memory.

Sometimes, a single random act of kindness can become the spark that ignites a revolution.

Be nice to people. Sometimes, a smile is all it takes to start a chain of kindness.

Be kind to others without expecting anything in return. Karma is keeping a tab.

Kindness may be blind but it is the most eye-opening feeling one can get. Thanks for being kind.

Be silly. Be honest. Be kind.

Have courage and be kind.

Paige Uses Her Experience To Teach Others

For Paige Lessard, growing up with Scoliosis was not easy. The disorder affects roughly 7 million people in the United States and can cause tremendous pain to those who suffer from it; however, Paige does not let that keep her down. Paige joined the Crossroads Youth Center in Saco, ME as a volunteer mentor for younger children. Crossroads Youth Center is a nonprofit youth organization with a mission to “promote positive character education to aid in the growth of resilient youth.” As a mentor, Paige visits schools and talks about creating respectful environments in school as well as society in general. She is also the spokesperson for Crossroads’ Unite Against Bullying ME campaign, a resource which provides support and education for Maine youth affected by bullying.

In addition to Crossroads, Paige also serves as the teen spokesperson for the Maine state chapter of the National Scoliosis Foundation (NSF). The NSF is a patient-led nonprofit organization which aims to help children, parents, and healthcare providers understand scoliosis as well as how to live with the disorder. On top of her volunteer efforts, Paige is the 2019 Miss Teen Maine and has already accrued over 100 hours of community service this year. Because of her dedication to philanthropy, Paige was named a 2019 Northeast Credit Union Nice Catch winner. We applaud her efforts to make her community better for all!
