At just 15 years old, Isabel Povey is dedicated to fighting hunger both within her community and around the world. In 2018, she started her own program called Seeds of Hope. Through Seeds of Hope, Isabel provides vegetable seeds to less fortunate families and children all over the world so that they may have access to their own healthy food. Seeds of Hope also serves as a metaphor for the people they serve; from the tiny seed grows the mighty tree.
On top of donating seeds, Isabel has also held several food drives in her community, donated food to areas affected by natural disasters and held a water drive for a local family after their well went dry. On weekends, Isabel spends her time volunteering at local food pantries and soup kitchens, giving back to those in need within her community. As part of her campaign against hunger, Isabel also runs a blog where she posts about her current fundraisers and projects and shares stories that inspire her to continue helping others.
In addition to running Seeds of Hope, Isabel is also Miss Seacoast’s Outstanding Teen 2019 with the Miss America Scholarship Program. She uses this platform to speak up for those in need, giving speeches of empowerment and awareness to audiences that range from school children to politicians.
