A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

Kindness is contagious and doesn’t cost a thing.

Kindness is an investment. Good karma is the return.

Money makes you rich. Kindness makes you great.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Sometimes, a single random act of kindness can become the spark that ignites a revolution.

Brandon Stays Positive During Hard Times

In the wake of recent budget cuts, the school district in Berlin, NH has fallen on hard times. After the recent closing of Brown School Elementary, which housed grades K through 2, among those feeling the impact the most are teachers like Brandon Bedard. Brandon is the Technology teacher at Berlin Elementary School. Previously teaching at Brown School, Brandon is now responsible for teaching grades K through 5, nearly double the students he used to teach. While the number of students has increased, Brandon’s budget has not due to the school system’s financial struggles. While many would be discouraged by this, Brandon remains determined to give his students the best educational experience he can.

In order to ensure that his teaching budget is completely dedicated to fulfilling the needs of his students, Brandon uses his own money to purchase his personal classroom items, even purchasing his desk entirely out of his own pocket. While the budget cuts have been very strenuous, Brandon never lets his students see it. He remains passionate and positive even during these hard times; a lesson which all of us can learn from.

Because of his unwavering passion for teaching, Brandon was chosen as a winner for Northeast Credit Union’s Teachers That Wow contest. We love his commitment to his students and his positive attitude!
